An Energy Rating is an assessment of how Energy efficient your property is. There are many factors that are taken into consideration when your property is being assessed for its Energy Rating.
Some of the things that are taken into consideration are:
-What size your dwelling is
-Where your dwelling is situated and how much sunlight etc it receives per day
-What sort of fixtures and appliances you have in your dwelling e.g. water saving fixtures, air conditioning and heating etc
-What type of materials your property is built from e.g. brick, weatherboard, iron roof, tiled roof etc
There are many things you can do to achieve a higher Energy Rating. Below are some of the things you can do to improve your Energy Rating significantly:
-Have insulation installed in the walls and under the floor (if you have floorboards) as well as the roof
-Have double glazed glass installed
-Have Energy saving fixtures and appliances installed
Obviously this is just a brief run down on Energy Ratings and what they are assessed on. There are many more other factors but too many to mention here.
